Westport's Staples Rated 5th Best in Connecticut

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport community isn’t alone in thinking Staples High School is among the best in the state, and country. U.S. News & World Report magazine gives Staples a gold medal and ranks it the fifth-best high school in Connecticut on its 2012 Best High Schools list.

Nationwide, Staples is ranked No. 302. A gold medal designation means Staples is one of the top 500 schools in the country, based on college readiness.

Approximately 22,000 schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia were evaluated on state proficiency standards and how well they prepare students for college. Schools were then awarded a gold, silver or bronze medal based on these factors.

Ridgefield High School is ranked the third-best in the state, and Weston High ranks at No. 4. Darien comes in at No. 7, and Wilton takes No. 8.
