Westport's Elaine Whitney To Lead Professional Development At State Level

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Elaine Whitney, chair of the Westport Board of Education, has been nominated to serve as Vice President for Professional Development of the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education.

In her new role, Whitney will provide direction for the professional development activities for Connecticut’s 1,500 school board members.

Whitney was also recently appointed to serve as CABE’s representative on the Connecticut Advisory Commission for Intergovernmental Relations. The 24-member Commission serves as a forum for consultation and policy development by state and local officials.

She was nominated for the positions based on her expertise in strategic planning, organization and knowledge of statewide educational issues.
