Staples High School senior Kelsey Shockey was selected for her "superior academic achievement," according to a news release from the NSHSS. The Society "recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment," according to the release.
“On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Kelsey has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence,” said NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel in the release. “Kelsey is now a member of a unique community of scholars -- a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”
Society President James Lewis also lauded Shockey for her work.
“Our vision is to build a dynamic international organization that connects members with meaningful content, resources, and opportunities,” stated NSHSS President James W. Lewis. “We aim to help students like Kelsey build on their academic successes and enhance the skills and desires to have a positive impact on the global community.”
