Westport Sixth-Graders Bring Wonka to Life

Oompa Loompas are not a common sight in Westport, but the mischievous, orange-skinned, green-haired beings can be found by the dozens in Bedford Middle School’s production of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" this weekend.

The Roald Dahl classic is brought to life onstage by 104 Bedford sixth-graders, almost 50 of them as Oompa Loompas.

Presented by the Bedford Acting Group, the show is directed by Karen McCormick and produced by Marge French.

If you haven't yet seen it, you can catch the show Sunday at 2 p.m. But if you can't make it, here are some photo highlights from the show.
