WESTPORT, Conn. – After being closed an entire week due to Hurricane Sandy, all Westport public schools and school offices will be open Monday on a normal schedule, Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon announced Sunday afternoon.
School buses, Landon said, will also be running on their normal schedules. Parents who don’t feel comfortable brining their child to a particular bus stop are encouraged to take them to a different bus stop, he said.
“If you prefer to drive your child to school tomorrow, do not be reluctant to do so,” Landon added.
Because Election Day is Tuesday, and several schools serve as polling places, all schools will be closed Tuesday.
“I urge everyone to make every effort to get to your polling place to cast your ballot for the candidates of your choice on that day,” Landon said. “This is a particularly important election for our nation, our state, and our community, and every vote will be an important one.”
