WESTPORT, Conn. -- Parents asked the Westport Board of Education for a reversal of Superintendent of Schools Elliot Landon's proposal to cut staff in the $113.4 million budget Tuesday, according to the Westport News.
Landon's proposed cuts would save the district $415,355, said the Westport News.
The cuts would be to bus monitors other than those supporting special education students, stipends for middle school team leaders and special area liaisons, four full-time paraprofessionals, leaving none in the third grade, and two "grade-level assistants" at Staples High School, said the Westport News.
Landon began the meeting by saying the proposed cuts were in line with Board of Finance suggestions, the Westport News reported.
