Schools in Westport might have been canceled Thursday, but the nearly 15 inches of snow that fell across town still needed clearing.
At Saugatuck Elementary School, a team of workers diligently cleared the parking lots and sidewalks Thursday afternoon. One worker, pushing a snow blower along the sidewalk in front of the school, said he had to stop a few times to give the blower a break because it started smoking.
