WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport resident Louis Colosimo, 13, and his younger brother Johnny, 11, recently received academic achievement awards from Fairfield Country Day School, a private all-boys school in Fairfield.

Louis, who completed seventh-grade, was awarded the “Ranking Scholar” title for having the highest grade-point average in his class for the 2011-12 school year.  This is the second consecutive year he’s won the award.

Johnny, who completed fifth-grade, received the “Parent’s Association Award” for displaying the highest level of school spirit and citizenship.

Both Louis and Johnny are active in sports. Louis was a starting quarterback in the Westport Police Athletic League football program during the 2011 season. Post-season, he was selected by the Connecticut State All-Star team as the starting quarterback, and in December, he participated in the Football University Youth National Football tournament in Westwood, Mass.

At school, Louis participates in the Fairchester League Cross Country, where he placed fifth for the season this spring.

Johnny was a starting guard for the Westport Weston Family Y fifth-grade travel basketball team this year. His team placed second in the Class B Championship for the Fairfield County Basketball League’s 2011-12 season.

This fall, Louis is entering eighth-grade and Johnny is going into sixth-grade. After completing their studies at Fairfield Country Day School, both will attend Staples High School.
