It looks like Westport Public Schools are going all the way Tuesday, dismissing students at regular times despite the snow and ice. However, all after-school and evening activities have been canceled.
The National Weather Service is forecasting light freezing rain for the rest of the day. Between 1 and 3 inches of icy accumulation is expected. The freezing rain is expected to continue throughout the night with ice accumulation of less than an inch possible. Wind gusts of 25 mph are also expected.
On Wednesday, a mixture of snow and freezing rain is expected in the morning, then freezing rain throughout the day. Ice accumulations up to a quarter of an inch are possible.
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
