The superintendent search committee and its consultant, CES Executive Searches, invite residents to identify leadership qualities they want in the next superintendent. Click here for a complete schedule of meeting times.
Citizens are also asked to complete an online survey that will help determine the professional experience and personal qualities preferred in the next school leader. The survey will be available on the district's website from Jan. 10 through midnight of Jan. 17. The survey is anonymous, and all staff, students, parents and residents are encouraged to participate.
The data collected during the focus group sessions, along with survey results, will be assessed by the CES team. A report profiling the attributes identified by the community will be prepared and shared with the community. The data will serve as a guideline for superintendent candidates and will aid the board in the recruiting, interviewing and decision-making process.
"The Board of Education is eager to receive input from the Weston school community and the community at large regarding the key qualities for our new superintendent," said Philip Schaefer , chairman of the school board. "The data that we receive from these focus groups and the online survey will be invaluable."
The school board plans to select a new superintendent in the spring. The new schools chief is expected to start July 1. A compensation package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
