WESTON, Conn. -- The following is a message from the Weston Schools' website:
With the forecast that Hurricane Irene may have an impact on our region as the storm heads northward, the district has been preparing for any disruption to its operations. If the storm creates conditions that prompt any adjustment to plans for next week, the district will use the AlertNow emergency notification system for families, as well as keep current information posted on the homepage of the district's website.
At the beginning of each school year, a test message is sent out via the AlertNow system to ensure that the system is fully operational. Given the timing of the pending storm, a test message was sent out to all families the Friday morning.
District information will be updated daily until the storm passes through our region, and all normal operations have resumed.
