Weston Schools On Two-Hour Delay For Monday

WESTON, Conn. — Weston Public Schools will be on a two-hour delay Monday, Superintendent Colleen Palmer announced Sunday on the school system's website .

Some employees who live in areas harder hit by the snowstorm will be unable to report to work, Palmer said. The district has called in substitute teachers and will reallocate some non-classroom teachers to classroom assignments, she said. Preschool will not be in session.

Several substitute drivers from the Fairfield Public Schools, which are closed, will help Monday so all buses will be running, Palmer said. But with residual snow and ice on the roads, buses may run late, she said. Students should exercise caution at bus stops, and parents are encouraged to accompany them to bus stops and help them stay clear of roadways and snowbanks.

Lunch will be served, but the menu will be limited because some cafeteria workers remain snowbound, Palmer said. Students are encouraged to bring a packed lunch from home, she said.
