Weston High Ranks 2nd in State, Tops County

WESTON, Conn. – Weston High School was named the 163rd best high school in the country by Newsweek’s The Daily Beast this week. That ranking put Weston High second best in Connecticut and tops in Fairfield County. 

Earlier this month, it was ranked fourth best high school in Connecticut by U.S. News & World Report.

Newsweek ranked the top 1,000 high schools in the U.S. Here's how Weston ranked in the study's six categories: 

  • Graduation rate (100 percent)
  • College matriculation rate (98 percent)
  • Average SAT scores (1767)
  • Average AP score (3.7)
  • Average ACT (26)
  • Newsweek score (.82)

Weston got high marks for students' strong performance on the Connecticut Academic Performance Tests, which gauge student skills in math, science, reading and writing. Weston students achieved a 99 percent ranking in reading proficiency, 98 percent in math proficiency and a 54.8 on the college readiness index.
