EASTON, Conn. Easton high school students can get a jump on the Connecticut Academic Performance Test this year at review sessions being offered by administrators from the Joel Barlow High School . The free classes will be given during the next several weeks.
The CAPT is a comprehensive, state-required assessment test administered to all public high school sophomores in the spring. Students must pass all sections of the CAPT to be eligible to earn a diploma. To help students prepare, teachers will review topics in algebra and functions, numerical and proportional reasoning, geometry and measurement and working with data: statistics and probability.
The sessions will meet from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Feb. 6. Session dates and topics to be covered are as follows:
- Feb. 6 Algebra & Functions
- Feb. 8 Algebra & Functions
- Feb. 14 Geometry & Measurement
- Feb. 16 Geometry & Measurement
- Feb. 28 Numerical & Proportional Reasoning
- March 1 Working With Data: Statistics & Probability
