WESTON, Conn. -- Monday's snow and ice and the cold temperatures that accompanied them will delay the opening of all schools in Easton, Redding and Weston on Tuesday.
Weston Public Schools are planning for a three-hour delayed opening for Tuesday, Feb. 3. "Crews will be working long hours overnight to clear roads and to ready the campus to reopen schools," the Weston school district's website says. "We will reassess conditions by 5:30 a.m. and make a final decision to confirm the three-hour delay or to close, if warranted at that time."
"Plan on a three-hour delay, but please check the School Messenger alert the district will send out by 5:30 a.m. tomorrow morning for the most current information regarding the status of school."
In the Region 9 schools in Easton and Redding, schools will be on a two-hour delayed opening.
"Weather/road conditions will be monitored throughout the morning. Please be alert for additional notifications after 6:30 a.m.," said the Region 9 school district's website.
About 12 inches of snow fell Monday during the storm. All schools were closed Monday.
