"High School Musical," this ain't! Staples Players take on "Book of Days," a play by Pulitzer-Prize winning author, Lanford Wilson. Performances of this intense and suspenseful drama take place on May 13, 14, 15 at 7:30, and May 16 at at 3 p.m. The play focuses on two defining events in the small town of Dublin, Mo. the death of its leading citizen, the head of a cheese factory, and a community theater production of Shaw's ''Saint Joan. An investigation into the death starts to tear the community apart, exploring themes of trust, loyalty and betrayal.
"Book of Days" is being staged in Staple's intimate Black Box theatre. Seating is reserved and extremely limited. Tickets can be purchased online for $15 for adults and $10 for students. Only a small number of seats will be available at the door, beginning 30 minutes before the curtain. Parental guidance is strongly suggested, in light of the language used as well as the mature subject matter. No one under 10 years old will be admitted.
