Staples Senior Competes In 'Jeopardy' Teen Tournament

WESTPORT, Conn. – Catch Staples High School senior Emily Greenberg in the “Jeopardy” Teen Tournament on Friday as she competes to advance to the tournament finals.

Greenberg was one of 15 teens from across the country selected to participate in the tournament, which began airing on Jan. 30. She made her debut appearance on the show Tuesday night and advanced to the semifinals. She is one of nine students who made it to the semifinals.

To qualify for the tournament, Greenberg had to pass a 50-question online test. Only 15 seconds is allotted to answer each question, according to the “Jeopardy” website . Students who pass the online test may be invited to an in-person audition.

After being selected, Greenberg flew to Los Angeles with her father in October to tape the show, according to Inklings , the Staples High School student newspaper.

In Friday’s semifinal match, Greenberg will compete against Leonard Copper from Little Rock, Ark., and Nilai Sarda of Marietta, Ga. The episode will air at 7 p.m.
