Snow Doesn't Stop Westport Schools This Time

Snow isn’t stopping Westport Public Schools this time around. Schools are running on a regular schedule Wednesday, but, all afternoon and evening activities have been canceled.

There won’t be an early dismissal for Westport Public School children Wednesday as, despite the snow, schools are running on a regular schedule. However, all afternoon and evening activities have been canceled.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will continue to fall until about 4 p.m. Wednesday. After, a mix of snow and sleet is expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are possible.

Heavy snow is forecast for Wednesday night into early Thursday before 5 a.m. Wind gusts as high as 30 mph are also expected. New snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday.
