Ridgefield Academy Students Raise Funds Through World Education Games

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield Academy students recently competed in the World Education Games, put on by 3P Learning in a partnership with UNICEF.

For every question a student answered correctly, points were earned that 3P Learning has pledged to turn into cash for UNICEF. 

The World Education Games generated a total of 169,474,201 UNICEF points, which amounted to a contribution of over $100,000. The money will be used to purchase over 130 School In A Box kits, as well as other ongoing educational projects.

Ridgefield Academy raised 4,426 points. Students who competed for the school were Meredith Joo and Luisa Simon of Ridgefield and John Churchill and Tommy Heaton of Pound Ridge, N.Y.

Joo, Heaton and Churchill placed first, second and third at Ridgefield Academy in the Math Games. Simon participated in World Literacy Day as well as the World Math Day Competition and finished in first place in all the World Education Games at RA, earning 2,738 points.
