Poll: Should Westport Schools Open After Labor Day?

WESTPORT, Conn. – The 2012-13 school year is already under way in Westport, but should students start hitting the books before Labor Day?

Westport Public Schools opened its doors Monday, a week before Labor Day. Some may welcome an early holiday weekend in the year. But others argue that starting school after the last major summer holiday would make more sense, because students may still be in the summer frame of mind. Plus, starting the school year after Labor Day would give families more time for vacation.

What do you think? Should the start of the school year in Westport be rescheduled for after Labor Day or should it be kept as is? Let us know by leaving a comment below. You can also share your thoughts on our Facebook page.
