Their goal was to raise money for pediatric cancer research and awareness about this disease.

Grace Targonski, 12, shaved her head last year to raise awareness. This year, she decided to put a team together to "#bravetheshave" for pediatric cancer.

The children went back to school afterward, and they are spreading awareness among their classmates.

Targonski is a childhood cancer advocate and activist from Stamford. She has been working with her Caring With Grace mission since June 2014.

One of the reasons the children joined Grace on this particular event was to show support to a child affected by cancer in their school.

Those who participated in the event were: Efrain Diaz (Dolan Administrative team), Robby Diaz (age 6), Adrian Torres (seventh-grader at Dolan), Christian Rivera (seventh grader at Dolan), Michael Ferrari (AAA manager, Stamford Office), Stephen Gravel (AAA travel counselor).

They raised more than $1,000.
