Lisa Nelson, Rick Dickson and Lee Gowen Marine from Dunbar Educational Consultants will not only discuss what colleges are looking for but also advise in curriculum planning, standardized testing and how to make the most of extracurricular activities. This is a great program for students and parents to attend.

Before joining Dunbar, Nelson spent several years in the financial services industry. While her work at Dunbar over the past several years has exposed her to all aspects of consulting, her experience with her own children’s school searches led her to focus on college admissions. She is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.

Dickson advises families of students bound for independent schools, as well as families in crisis dealing with troubled teens. After 25 years in sales and marketing, he joined Dunbar and returned to his passion, education. Rick is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and a past Chairman of the Schools Committee. He is also an affiliated member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs.

Gowen Marine works with families of students seeking admission to college and independent schools. She is a graduate of The Ethel Walker School, The University of Virginia, and The Anderson School of Management at UCLA. After a career in finance with Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers in New York, she began working with Dunbar.
