The weather may not be the only thing thats stormy Tuesday night when Eastons superintendent of schools, Michael Cicchetti, presents his budget for next year. An increase of 4 percent is expected in outlays to run Helen Keller Middle School and Samuel Staples Elementary School.
The increases are to cover rising insurance costs, contracted salary increases and changes in benefits.
Joel Barlow High School's budget is managed by the Region 9 board. Easton's portion of that budget is also expected to increase because Easton's enrollment at the high school is increasing. The Region 9 budget will go to Easton and Redding voters for a referendum sometime before April.
Also up for discussion at tonight's meeting are issues with the facilities at Staples Elementary, and the introduction of new board member John Allan.
The meeting takes place at the Helen Keller media center at 7 p.m.
