“It’s the new wave,’’ said Higgins, the chairman and founder of Higgins Group, of the nearly four-minute video set to music that shows off the home. “Video is where it’s going to be to sell real estate. It’s the next generation in video, and has a cinematic flare to it.”
The video shows the home inside and out, with neatly done scenes shot from a variety of angles. There’s a catchy, upbeat song associated with the video, which was produced by a Utah firm. The video takes about a week to produce, and there is no added cost for sellers.
“It creates a buzz and some excitement,’’ Higgins said. “When people see it, they want to come see the house. It attracts people like a magnet.”
Higgins said his company’s motto is “Marketing Connecticut real estate at the highest level.” The video for the Beachside Avenue home is only one example. “We see the future and it’s here,’’ Higgins said. “People are missing the boat. The old slide show doesn’t work. When you’re trying to do the best job, you can’t just do a slide show.”
Higgins hit a home run with the video on the Beachside Avenue home, a spectacular five-bedroom, 4.1 bath colonial in the coveted Greens Farms section of Westport. The center hall leads into a formal living room and dining room for entertaining. The large eat in kitchen was built by designer Rose Adams.
There is a formal library/den on the main level, and a mudroom area. The Master Bedroom on the second floor features a large bathroom, fireplace and office. The home, which has five fireplaces, also offers a stone patio with a hot tub, a 3-car garage, an alarm system and a generator. The lower level includes a game room and wine cellar. There is also a two-bedroom carriage house.
Situated on two acres with breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound, the property is on the market for $6,250,000.
