Retail Property On Post Road West In Westport Sells For $5.75 Million

WESTPORT, Conn. -- The retail property building at 222 Post Road W. in Westport has sold for $5.75 million, Westport's HK Group announced.

The 21,000-square-foot two-story building sits on a 1.35-acre lot, said Matthew Keefe, president of HK Group, and Franco Fellah, executive vice president at HK Group.

The two-story building was 96 percent leased at the time of the sale. The property it is home to Pompanoosuc Mills, Bel Mondo, Around the Rosie, J. Pocker & Son, Capel Rugs, Artee Fabrics and The Dance Collective.

It was originally built in 1977.

The buyer is from out of state, HK Group said in a press release.

"Westport commercial property has recently attracted a number of out of state real estate investors, driven by the great retail activity of this market," said the release from HK Group. "Retailers have been opening stores in Westport because of the exceptional demographic profile of the town."
