REDDING, Conn. -- The town of Redding has approved The Marchant Woods Development project, which will bring 11 homes to the area.
The project will develop 49 acres acres of land located on Marchant Road and Chestnut Woods Road in the western part of Redding. Old Stones Estate, LLC purchased a total of 65 acres.
The lots will be developed into a new subdivision.
To meet town requirements, each parcel will be at least 2 acres, with houses that have at least 4,500 square feet and three-car garages. The homes will also have minimum setbacks from the existing homes.
The properties will be listed by William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty.
New Canaan agent Diane Jenkins has the property listings, and will provide detailed parcel maps and prices upon request.
“This development provides an amazing opportunity for investors, architects or builders to create the entire project at this early stage,” said Jenkins. “Its recent approval allows the highest and best use of the property and the potential for an extraordinarily beautiful, private and luxurious neighborhood that is in keeping with its natural surroundings in West Redding. I am very excited to be a part of this carefully and beautifully designed project.”
The new homes will have at least 4,500 square feet of space and three-car garages along with setback from the road. The homes are planned to blend with the surrounding topography and other homes, the developer said.
This development property is sited in a rural setting complete with extensive acres of woods, pastoral fields, natural fieldstone walls, nearby ponds and other bucolic elements of New England’s countryside.
PW Scott Engineering and Architecture P.C. of Brewster, N.Y. is representing Old Stones Estates LLC to take this project through every stage of planning and the subdivision application and approval process.
