Four Arrested After Two Stolen Vehicles Recovered: Linden PD

Four people were arrested in Linden last week after police recovered two stolen vehicles, police said.

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 8:40 p.m., officers were alerted to a stolen U-Haul van traveling southbound on Route 1. Police located the van at South Stiles Street and arrested Anthony Miguel, a 30-year-old Mount Holly resident and Marcello Miguel, a 21-year-old Mount Ephraim resident, officers said.

Police discovered cocaine and drug paraphernalia from the van, officers said. Anthony had an active warrant out of Arizona, police said.

Anthony was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of cocaine, among other charges, and was committed to Essex County Jail as a fugitive from justice, police said. Marcello was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of cocaine, among other charges, and was committed to Essex County Jail pending a scheduled court appearance, police said.

On Thursday, Oct. 19, officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle headed toward Route 1 on South Park Avenue, police said. Officers located the vehicle at the Swan Motel at 301 East Edgar Rd, police said.

Michael Tierney, a 35-year-old Spotswood resident and Jordan Ellis, a 30-year-old Freehold resident were arrested as they walked away from the vehicle, police said. Police found 13 glassine envelopes containing suspected heroin, along with a scale and other drug paraphernalia, police said.
