The arrest took place in Dutchess County on Friday, May 26 at home in the city of Poughkeepsie by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.
Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force said agents executed a search warrant with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit at 339 Mansion St. in the city of Poughkeepsie and arrested these individuals at the scene.
Fentanyl, cocaine, and cash was seized inside the residence.
"These arrests are just one example of numerous cases the Dutchess County Drug Task Force is actively investigating county-wide into the sale of cocaine, Fentanyl, and other dangerous drugs," Haris said.
Those arrested were:
- Tami Halloran, age 47, of the city of Poughkeepsie
- Dyani A. Sanders, age 43, of the city of Poughkeepsie
- Kimberly Smith, age 58, of the city of Poughkeepsie
Halloran and Sanders were charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance. Smith was wanted on a warrant for stolen property, Harris said.
Smith was turned over to Poughkeepsie Police.
Halloran and Sanders were held pending arraignment.
Harris said fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.
"Fentanyl and cocaine have been linked to an overwhelming number of overdose deaths in Dutchess County," he added.
