Car Strikes 18-Year-Old Man Riding Skateboard In Middleborough: Police

An 18-year-old man is seriously injured after he was struck by a car overnight in Middleborough, authorities said.

Police responded to the incident in the area of 81 Plympton Street around 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, Middleborough Police ChiefJoseph Perkins reports.

Upon arrival, officers found the man unconscious and laying on the road suffering from serious injuries. Police administered aid to the man before he was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Perkins reports.

Initial investigation suggested the man was hit while he was riding his skateboard on the road, Perkins reports. The driver, a 36-year-old Middleborough man, stayed on scene and cooperated in the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
