Andrew Kleber, a onetime New Milford bodybuilder who owns and operates Super Star Seating, approached a police vehicle in the parking lot of the Brookchester stores
on River Road Saturday night, banged on its window and shouted obscenities at Officer Darrell Marshall, the chief said.

Marshall got out of the police car and Kleber continued to shout obscenities as the officer approached, Papapietro said. Kleber jumped Marshall but was quickly subdued, he said.

Officers said Kleber was so drunk that they took him to Bergen Regional Medical Center instead of the county jail. A Municipal judge ordered him held on $1,000 bail pending  court hearing.

Papapietro said Marshall will be back to work in a few days.

Kleber was struck around 1 a.m. May 19, apparently while walking at Boulevard and Henley Avenue. It left him with serious head and rib injuries.

“Not back to where I wanna be yet,” Kleber says on his Facebook page, “but not bad for getting hit by a car.”
