Man Who Survived Gunshot Wound Leads Norwalk’s Week In News

NORWALK, Conn. – A 20-year-old Norwalk man who was shot in the head and survived led the news in the city this week.

The man, whose identity was not released by police, was treated in Norwalk Hospital for the injury, which police said pierced his skull. Details of the shooting were withheld by police while detectives continued their investigation. 

In other Norwalk news, Norwalk Hospital broke ground on a new multimillion-dollar expansion project, which includes a 95,000-square-foot ambulatory pavilion called the Ann P. and Harold W. McGraw Jr. Center. 

A garbage truck rollover on East Avenue resulted in minor injuries to the driver and snarled traffic for hours. 

An unnamed man was found dead on a sidewalk at the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Madison Street. Foul play was not suspected. 

Elio Longo, chief operating officer of Norwalk schools, announced he was leaving at year’s end to take a similar job with the Westport school system.
