Darien Hires New Director Of Parks And Recreation

DARIEN, Conn. – Darien has hired a new director for its Parks and Recreation Department, according to a press release from First Selectman Jayme Stevenson.

Pamela Gery will be stepping into the role of Darien's parks and recreation director, effective Monday, June 8.

Pamela Gery will be stepping into the role of town parks and recreation director effective Monday, June 8.

She has 19 years of experience in the field, including nearly 15 years of service as North Branford’s parks and recreation director.

“While we had several excellent candidates to choose from in our search, Pam’s experience, energy and passion for her work made her the clear choice for Darien,” Stevenson said.

“Pam’s leadership, creativity and strategic competence will be a great benefit to the town of Darien and the Parks and Recreation Commission. She has a depth of experience in recreation business development, facilities planning, strategic vision, customer outreach, marketing and budget control and accountability standards.

“Pam joins us at the beginning of our busiest season and is looking forward to meeting our residents and hearing their thoughts and ideas for the future.”
