Jupiter Will Be Parked Near Moon Over Westport Skies Friday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- If you missed Jupiter sitting next to the moon in Fairfield's eastern skies on Tuesday night, take heart. The two will appear to get cozy again on Friday evening.

The viewing on Friday could be better if weather cooperates. Right now the forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a low temperature around 14 degrees.

The apparent proximity of the two celestial bodies is merely an optical illusion. The moon is just 1.3 light seconds from Earth with Jupiter is 36 light minutes away, according to National Geographic.
