After finding the 2 acre parcel and working with an architect, the home was built. “I started decorating five minutes after I finished building,’’ said Marshall, who completed the Greenfield Hill home in 2008. “It shows better than some brand new homes. It’s time for a new project. I created what was in my head, and now it’s time for someone else to enjoy it.”

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom house with 8,684 square feet recently came on the market for $4,900,000. Christine Magliocco of The Vanderblue Team at Higgins Group is the listing agent. Complete details on the home are available on the listing website, along with a video look at the home.

Marshall said he wanted the look to reflect an English Country Farmhouse with an eclectic interior. The home is perfect for entertaining family and guests, with the kitchen, dining room, family room and breakfast area sewn seamlessly together.

“I think the open floor plan of the house is going to surprise a lot of people when they visit it,’’ Marshall said. “It flows from one room to the next, and I think it has a lot of unusual features. It’s great for holidays and family parties. We’ve had many large gatherings comfortably.”

The lower level includes a large prep kitchen, a spacious bedroom with a full bathroom, a family room, gym and wine room or home theater. There is also a guest home with two bedrooms, a luxurious kitchen, two living rooms and an office space, all with fireplaces as well as a formal dining room.

There are three outdoor living areas, a spectacular gunite pool and more than one grill for entertaining. “The home is wonderful in its versatility, and would be perfect for single or blended families; however it also appeals to the multi-generational purchaser. More families are investing in homes together, whether to be close to aging parents, for childcare or simply for financial reasons. The families in this multi-generational group can enjoy their living space comfortably here while maintaining their privacy at the same time, allowing their family to stay together. This is truly that perfect combination of privacy mixed with togetherness for the next homeowner,” said Magliocco.

The location is ideal as well, offering close proximity to town which provides an easy commute to NYC.

Magliocco said she enjoys showcasing a home that is well-designed from top to bottom. “It’s a pleasure to show and market a home that fits the needs of many buyer profiles and lifestyles.’’

The home is open and spacious throughout, which Marshall said was part of the overall design when it was constructed. “When designing we opted not to create a grand staircase as it put too much emphasis on stairs instead of maximizing room space. We chose a lovely three-story staircase with custom hand carved balusters.’’ Marshall said.

Julie Vanderblue stated that her New York City and international network are overwhelmed with the value of this property for all that it offers. “The designer, owner Ron Marshall, is a visionary and the quality in design and use of space is like nothing I have seen in my 18 years in real estate," said Vanderblue. "It is breathtaking at every single turn."
