On Monday, Immelt helped to break ground on the new headquarters for GE in Boston, according to WBUR-AM. In January 2016, GE announced it was moving its headquarters from its suburban campus is Fairfield to a new hub of buildings in downtown Boston along Fort Point Channel.

And word also came that Immelt and wife, Andrea, who have moved to Boston's Back Bay, had a buyer for their mansion in New Canaan.

According to a listing at the Houlihan Lawrence website, the Connecticut house is under contract with a buyer.

The property at 705 West Road home in New Canaan was listed for sale at $4.725 million, but the website did not say what price is in the contract.

The Immelts bought the mansion for $5.25 million in June 2001.

They put it on the market in May 2016 for $5.5 million, but the reduced the price in October 2016 to $4.999 million and again in January to $4.725 million.

The Colonial-style stone home was built in 2000 and features six bedrooms, 9.2 bathrooms and six fireplaces in 11,458 square feet of space.

The 4-acre lot includes a pond with a fountain as well as blossoming trees and stone terraces.

The yearly property taxes are $64,983.
