“Wine, Cheese and Conversation” will be held on Wednesday, March 30, at Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East in Westport. It starts at 7 p.m.

The fundraiser was created by Mary Crist, the office leaders for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties in Westport. Proceeds benefit Sunshine Kids and SoundWaters.

Guests can talk with Judith Orseck Katz, an author and artist. Her book, “the beautiful POND,” is a colorful 88-page story book of Old Mill Pond and Compo Cove in Westport. Admission is $35 and includes a softcover book or $45, which includes a hardcover book. The book features the stunning water of the pond and its environs, walking readers through the transformation of the pond from a working mill to a beloved and bucolic sanctuary for coastal life.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties, Crist’s company, supports Sunshine Kids, which provides young cancer patients with opportunities to participate in positive group activities that promote self-esteem, personal accomplishment and fun.

Proceeds from the event will support both Sunshine Kids and SoundWaters, whose mission is to protect Long Island Sound through education and action. Robin Tauck will also be speaking about the Long Island Sound preservation and the work of Soundwaters.

“These are two groups that we care deeply about,’’ Crist said. “We always try to do as much as we can to support local charities. I saw this as an opportunity to do something to benefit SoundWaters and Sunshine Kids.”

People should RSVP to Crist at marycrist@bhhsne.com or 203-227-5717. Additional copies of the book will be available for purchase.
