WESTPORT, Conn. -- The WestportWeston Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, will host a Post Session Legislative Update, entitled “What’s Happening in Hartford,“ at the Westport Library.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. in the McManus room at the library.
This forum provides an opportunity for the local and business community to learn about issues affecting them at both the state and regional level.
All five legislators from Westport and Weston, Sen.Toni Boucher (R-26), Sen. Tony Hwang (R-28), Rep. Jonathan Steinberg (D-136), Rep. Gail Lavielle (R-143) and Rep. John Shaban (R-135) will be taking part in this event.
The open forum will be moderated by Matthew Mandell, the executive director of the WWCC. “I’m pleased that all of our elected officials are coming to share their thoughts and vision,” said Mandell. “This is a great opportunity for our business people and residents alike to come ask questions and see how they will be represented.”
“CBIA is the largest state-wide business organization working to make Connecticut economically competitive and a top state to do business in,” said Nicole Cline, Public Affairs Specialist for CBIA. “It's important for businesses, large and small, to connect with their legislators and express their points of view so we can work to make Connecticut a place with endless opportunities. This event is an excellent way of doing just that.”
This is the fifth semi-annual update. Residents, business people and all members of the WWCC are invited to come and participate by asking questions during this open forum.
Coffee and baked goods will be provided at this free morning event.
