Westport Residents Can Register, Vote On Election Day

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport Registrars of Voters Kevin White and Marla Cowden reminded residents that the Nov. 5 municipal election will be the first in Connecticut history in which voters who have not previously registered to vote can both register and vote on Election Day.

Election Day registration will be held in the Town Hall Auditorium, located at 110 Myrtle Ave., and will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Those seeking to register and vote must do so at Town Hall. No other polling stations will allow registration to be completed.

Residents registering and voting on Election Day will need to provide proof of both identity and residency. Proof of identity includes but is not limited to: driver’s license, birth certificate, Social Security, college photo ID, oath of another elector or proof satisfactory to registrars.

Proof of residence must show the current Westport address and includes: 

  • Current DMV issued identification including licenses
  • Utility bill due within 30 days post-election
  • Current college registration or fee statement
  • Current Lease
  • Library card
  • Paycheck or bank statement
  • Property tax bill
  • Naturalization documents
  • Passport.
