WESTPORT, Conn. – Registered Westport Republicans who have ever considered running for the town’s top political seat now have the chance to do so.
The Westport Republican Town Committee announced it has formed a Board of Selectmen Nominating Committee to interview qualified candidates for November’s Board of Selectmen race. This committee will recommend candidates to the full Republican Town Committee. The RTC will then nominate the party’s official candidates for first and second selectman.
Registered Westport Republican interested in being considered should contact Robert LaFleur, chairman of the nominating committee, at ral27@optonline.net or 203-226-8644. Candidates will be asked to submit a resume and complete a questionnaire in advance of being interviewed by the Nominating Committee.
Interviews are scheduled to begin in March.
Candidates will be officially nominated at the July Republican Town Committee meeting.
