Westport Proposes $202.8M Budget, Less Than 1% Tax Increase

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport town and school officials presented a $202.8 million budget to the Board of Finance at a recent meeting, according to the Connecticut Post.

First Selectman Jim Marpe said proposed budget as constituted would mean a property tax increase of less than 1 percent, the Connecticut Post reported.

Marpe presented the town-side of the budget which came in at $78.9 million, or a 2.5 percent increase, while Board of Education Chairman Michael Gordon's proposed school budget was for $111, 471,756, or an increase of just over 2 percent, the Connecticut Post said.
