Westport Incumbents Win Tuesday's Election

WESTPORT, Conn. – State Sen. Toni Boucher was among the winners in Tuesday's elections for local, state and federal races.

In State Senate District 26, Republican incumbent Boucher defeated Democratic challenger Philip Sharlach. This district also includes parts of New Canaan, Redding, Bethel, Ridgefield and Weston.

The town of Westport includes two state Senate districts and two state House of Representatives districts. Here are the results from Tuesday's races:

  • In State Senate District 28, Republican Tony Hwang defeated Democrat Kim Fawcett to replace Republican John McKinney, who did not seek re-election.
  • In State House District 136, Democratic incumbent Jonathan Steinberg defeated Republican challenger Brandi Briggs.
  • In State House District 143, Republican incumbent Gail Lavielle defeated Democratic challenger Keith Rodgerson. This district also includes parts of Wilton and Norwalk.

Republican Probate Judge Lisa Wexler was re-elected after running unopposed. The probate district also includes Weston.

Democratic Registrar of Voters Marla Cowden and Republican Registrar of Voters Kevin White were both re-elected.
