WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Compo Beach Site Improvement Committee is set to host a public meeting on the site's Master Plan on Nov. 23.

Westport Parks & Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy said the Master Plan meeting would take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Bedford Middle School, according to a press release.

The meeting is a "collaborative work group session in which community members, planners, landscape designers, architects, and stakeholders craft a solution to a design challenge," according to the release.

"Westport community members, stakeholders, and residents are invited to help establish the framework for the Compo Beach Master Plan," representatives said in the release. "The meeting will focus on what elements should be included: how to meet the needs of various park users, and attempt to define the community’s priority items."

“We encourage members of the public to visit the Compo Beach Master Plan website ," said McCarthy in the release. “This website will be a portal for public information regarding this important project, as well as provide an opportunity for public participation.”

The Compo Beach Site Improvement Committee has retained Lothrop Associates, a White Plains, N.Y., based architecture firm to lead the development of the Compo Beach Master Plan. Lothrop Associates will be assisted by AKRF, Inc., an environmental, planning, and engineering firm also in White Plains, according to the release.
