WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce will host an open discussion with Westport's first selectman candidates at the Westport Library from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.

Helen Garten, a Democrat, and Jim Marpe, a Republican, will discuss how they, if elected, would help Westport’s businesses grow and flourish. Current First Selectman Gordon Joseloff is not seeking re-election in November.

Members of Westport’s business community are encouraged to attend and bring questions, concerns, ideas and initiatives to be shared and discussed with the candidates.

The discussion will take place in the library's McManus Room. Space is limited so those planning to attend are encouraged to register as soon as possible by calling the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce at 203-227-9234.

Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch. Cookies and beverages will be provided.

The Westport Library is located at 20 Jesup Road.
