RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Sen. Toni Boucher, R-Wilton, has been named the chief deputy minority leader in her third term as a member of the Connecticut Senate.

Boucher will continue serving on the Transportation, Higher Education and Education committees as a leader and ranking member. She will also serve as a member of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee. She has told The Daily Voice that her plans for the 2013 session include working to fix the state’s financial problems in a bipartisan way. "Connecticut must recreate an environment where businesses can grow and families can prosper. I continue to look forward to crafting policy in order to balance the state’s growing budget deficit while holding the line on taxes, reducing government spending, saving businesses and growing jobs," said Boucher in a statement. "We face a $2 billion deficit over the next two years and must make some structural changes to the way we tackle budget issues. Our families deserve no less."
