WESTPORT, Conn. If you've ever wanted to help shape education policy in Westport, now is your chance. Applications are being accepted to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education that was created after longtime Chairman Don ODay resigned in August.
Interested applicants must be a registered Democrat and be willing to be interviewed separately by the Westport Democratic Town Committee and the board. The successful candidate will serve on the board from the date of appointment until the next board election, which is scheduled for November 2013.

Application letters must be submitted to the Board of Education no later than noon Tuesday, Sept. 11. Letters can be hand delivered and addressed to:
