Rep. Shaban Looks For Solutions In Malloy's Budget Proposal

EASTON/WESTON/REDDING, Conn. -- After the budget address from Gov. Dannel Malloy last week, state Rep. John Shaban (R- Easton, Weston, Redding) offered comments on how the state Legislature should vet the governor's proposal.

“The governor's budget proposal has some interesting ideas, but some troublesome points as well, including hidden tax increases and more borrowing to pay for yet another proposed increase in spending," Shaban said in a statement. "He has included several ambitious concepts with an emphasis on planning, but offers little on execution or how we will pay for the ideas.

"We’re going to take a look at the substance, examine what’s good and what’s bad, and offer some creative and sound solutions. That’s what we’re here for.”
