Rogers has owned and operated a real estate development company in Fairfield for the past 25 years.

“We are proud to have Jon Rogers as the newest Republican member of the Building Board of Appeals. He brings a depth of experience and an even-handed approach that will serve this community well,” said Britta Lerner, chairwoman of the Weston Republican Town Committee.

The experience Rogers brings to the Building Board of Appeals includes overseeing the renovation of hundreds of properties in Bridgeport — some historic — to building single family subdivisions in Newtown and Oxford and luxury homes in Fairfield.

“I believe my knowledge of the building field can help to contribute in many positive ways,” he said.

Rogers is a product of the Weston school system—graduating from high school in 1977. He and his wife, Monica, moved to Weston in 1992 and have raised their three daughters here.

“Having grown up in Weston,” he said, “I feel a strong personal connection to the community. My father served on the Zoning Board for several years, and I grew up thinking it was one’s duty to serve in some way.”

He currently serves on the vestry of Emmanuel Church and is involved in the completion of the new Emmanuel Parish Hall.

The Weston Republican Town Committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month.

Members of the community are always welcome to attend. For more information, go to www.westonrtc.org.
