The Board of Selectmen in December approved Riback as an alternate in December after she was nominated by the Republican Town Committee.

“As a Realtor with 19 years of experience specializing in Weston, Leslie is well qualified for the position and we are grateful for her service,” said RTC Chairwoman Britta Lerner.

Riback, who has lived in the community for 28 years, has three children who all graduated from the local high school.

Riback was active in the PTOs, serving as chair or member of many committees, Lerner said.

Riback has also been a member of the Weston Historical Society and Aspetuck Land Trust for nearly 20 years.

“Weston is a small town with a big heart and I am passionate about it as a place to live,” Riback said.

The Board of Assessment Appeals accepts applications to review all types of property taxes, both real and personal. It also adjudicates motor vehicle assessment appeals.

Riback said she is honored to be chosen to serve on the board.

“As a professional, I have the reputation of being truthful, hard-working and to the point. These are attributes that serve well for this position,” she said.
