WESTPORT, Conn. – The four candidates running for Westport’s two seats in the state House of Representatives will face-off Tuesday in an environmental debate hosted by Earthplace.
The debate will include Democratic state Rep. Jonathan Steinberg and his Republican challenger Stephen Rubin for the 136th District race, and Republican state Rep. Gail Lavielle and her Democratic opponent Ted Hofstatter in the 143rd District race.
Earthplace Trustee and Westport Representative Town Meeting member Matthew Mandell will moderate the debate. The candidates will answer questions from Earthplace staff and trustees, as well as from audience members who will be able to submit questions before and during the debate.
The focus of the forum is solely the environment and issues related to it. The event will take place Tuesday at Earthplace, 10 Woodside Lane, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
