WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport registrars of voters are reminding residents Wednesday that the deadlines for changing party preference for the Presidential Primary are approaching.
Tuesday, Jan. 26, is the last day for voters registered in a party to change to another party. In Connecticut, if you registered as “Independent,” you are registered with the Independent Party, which is a Connecticut minor party, and the above deadline applies as it does to all major and minor parties.
You may confirm your party registration on the secretary of the state’s website at www.sots.ct.gov. Follow the prompts to “Am I Registered” under the Voter Information tab.
April 25 is the last day for "unaffiliated” voters to change to a party. To Change Affiliation: Go to www.voterregistration.ct.gov and complete the online form; or go to www.sots.ct.gov, and under the voter registration tab, download, complete and mail the Voter Registration paper form to: Registrars of Voters Town Hall, Room 107 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport, CT 06880-9606; or visit the registrars at the above address.
Contact the registrars at 203-341-1115 with any questions.
